Shri Bhagawan Nityananda

Descent of God into the world takes place often, as Nityasiddha Purushas or as Avatara Purushas also known as divine incarnations. Shri Bhagawan Nityananda was a Janma Siddha, a being who was born God-Realized and there were several flashes in him that belonged to an avtara. Bhagawan Nityananda spent his entire life serving the needs of mankind. His powers were that of the Absolute, of God himself. Yet he kept nothing for himself. He remained in one loincloth and shawl, sleeping on wooden bed, completely devoid of any desire for materialistic gain. Bhagawan Nityananda spent several years in the South Kanara district in Quilandy. From there, he moved making his way deep into the Himalayas and staying at places such as Quilandy , Sri Lanka , Burma , Kanhangad, Kumbla, Gokarna, Udipi, Calicut , Mangalore, Manjeshwar, coastal Karnataka and Vajreshwari. Later, he settled in Ganeshpuri, at the foot of the majestic Mandakini Mountain near the Bhimeshwar temple, surrounded by rolling hills, lush fields and hot spring where he spent the remainder of his years before taking Mahasamadhi there on August 8, 1961
